Roll Superwhisper out across your fleet without asking each user to download or install it manually. Superwhisper ships signed installers and supports the standard managed-app workflows in Jamf, Microsoft Intune, and other MDM tools. On macOS, each user must still grant microphone access.

macOS (Jamf)

Install

  1. Upload the signed Superwhisper PKG to Jamf Admin or your distribution point
  2. Create a policy scoped to the target computer group
  3. Set the trigger (recurring check-in, login, or self-service) and frequency
  4. Run the policy

Permissions

Superwhisper needs Accessibility permission to paste text into other apps and Microphone permission to record audio. You can grant Accessibility access with a PPPC (Privacy Preferences Policy Control) profile:
  1. Create a new Configuration Profile in Jamf
  2. Add a Privacy Preferences Policy Control payload
  3. Add Superwhisper with the Accessibility service set to Allow, using the app identifier and code signing requirement from the profile template we provide
  4. Scope the profile to the same computer group as the install policy
macOS does not allow MDM to pre-grant microphone access. Each user must click Allow when Superwhisper requests it. If they previously denied access, they can enable Superwhisper in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. See Apple’s PPPC reference for the permissions a profile can manage.

Verification

  1. Confirm Superwhisper appears in Applications on a target Mac
  2. Open it as the intended user and complete license activation
  3. Grant microphone access when prompted
  4. Follow the Quickstart to record a short dictation and confirm the text pastes into another app

macOS (Intune)

Intune supports PKG installers for macOS. Upload the signed Superwhisper PKG as a Line-of-business app or macOS app (PKG) in the Intune admin center, then assign to the target group. Deploy the supplied PPPC profile template through Intune to grant Accessibility access. Each user must grant Microphone access themselves, as described in Permissions. Use the same verification steps on a target Mac.

Windows (Intune)

Install

Superwhisper for Windows uses an NSIS-based EXE installer. Intune treats EXE installers as Win32 apps:
  1. In the Intune admin center, go to Apps > Windows > Add
  2. Choose Windows app (Win32) and upload the Superwhisper EXE wrapped as an .intunewin package using the Microsoft Win32 Content Prep Tool
  3. Set the install command (see below) and assign to your target group as Required

Silent install command

NSIS installers accept the /S flag for fully silent installation:
For uninstall, run the app’s uninstaller silently from Superwhisper’s install directory (the exact path ships with the package metadata we send):

Verification

Check the Intune admin center under Apps > Monitor > App install status for per-device install results.

Activation after install

If your organization is on Superwhisper Enterprise with SAML SSO configured, users open the app, sign in with their work email, and their license activates automatically. No license keys to push. For setups without SSO, contact enterprise@superwhisper.com to discuss license distribution options.

Updates

Superwhisper checks for updates on launch by default. To manage updates through your MDM instead, deploy the new PKG or EXE as a replacement package on your usual schedule.
